The guys from Holmes Consulting Group joined us for a heli ski charter at the end of August and the just sent us this really awesome helmet cam footage of their day. You really get a great idea of the vast and varied terrain we have available. These guys got a really mint sunny day to make the most of their charter and got lots of runs in with a cheeky lunch stop at the Whare Kea Lodge Chalet, located in our Buchanans heli ski terrain.

12th August Video – North Harris Mountains
August 16th, 2011Here’s our latest video, filmed in the North Harris Mountains on 12th August. We’ve got a very deep snowpack throughout our terrain and conditions in August have been just fantastic. They are about to get even better, as the Southern Alps are being pounded by a storm which has delivered lots of snow all the way down to town level in Queenstown and Wanaka. The powder gods are smiling on us this season! It’s going to be deep and so good out there once the storm passes and the sun comes out, so don’t miss this fantastic opportunity.
Huge snow storm hitting Queenstown and Wanaka
August 15th, 2011Temperatures have plummeted and a huge storm is currently blowing across New Zealand with Antarctic force! Unprecedented amounts of snow have already been deposited at town level in both Wanaka and Queenstown. The local ski fields have reported 20-30cm of fresh powder this morning. Our extensive heli ski terrain is located at higher elevations, so we can typically expect more fresh snow than that, and the storm is still going! Needless to say, we are very excited to get out into our backcountry terrain once the skies clear and the sun comes out, as it is forecast to do on Wednesday.
August is our typical month of great powder in New Zealand and so far it really has delivered!
