We were very honoured to receive the Adventure Tourism Award at The Outdoors Awards 2012, which took place last week in Wellington.
Harris Mountains Heli-Ski chief guide Dean Staples attended the event and accepted the award on behalf of the team. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in the Awards. We are very excited to be recognised as leader’s in adventure tourism and the outdoors in New Zealand.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all our amazing 2012 heliski guests who joined us in Queenstown, Wanaka and Mount Cook this season. From our annual heliski enthusiasts, to all the new people we got to meet, we hope you all had a phenomenal experience skiing premium powder and big mountain terrain with us!
Wishing you all an incredible season ahead, summer or winter, and we very much look forward to skiing with you all again next year.

September has been an incredible month so far, with huge storms and some of the best snow we’ve had all winter! It is currently snowing, so our terrain will be nicely topped up in time for tomorrow’s trips. It’s looking like blue skies and powder for breakfast!
We will continue to operate as per snow conditions (which are currently awesome) and demand allows, so don’t miss our September Special discounts on our 4 and 7 run day trips.

A phenomenal 1.5m+ of fresh snow has fallen in just the last few days and conditions are currently the best we have had all winter season. Our guides and clients are raving about how good it is out there!
Yesterday our seats were fully booked and the choppers were out in force, with only one thing on the agenda… FRESH POWDER!

This season we have been skiing a lot in the Richardson Mountains with our private charter groups. Accessible from both Wanaka and Queenstown, this range offers some really amazing terrain.
Take a peek at these photos which were snapped on a charter we did on the last week of August with one of our favourite clients, Tom Donohue, all the way from Colorado. This was Tom’s 20th trip with HMH and during that week we managed to ski 88 runs, adding up to 219,000 vertical feet!

The last few days have seen legendary quantities of snow falling across our vast Southern Alps terrain. It’s been the kind of storm that will have people talking for a long time!
After 100cm of fresh snow falling over the last 72 hours on our high alpine terrain, we were extremely excited to wake up to sunshine and blue skies yesterday! We knew it was going to be one of the best day’s of the season and it certainly did not disappoint, with endless deep powder and plenty of huge grins on the faces of some very happy heli skiers.
With yet more snow on the forecast (and it’s looking like truckloads of the white stuff is headed straight for us!!!!!) and our September Special discounts in place on our Classic 4 run day packages and Maximum Vertical 7 run day packages, now is the time to book your seat and rip up some fresh powder with us. We’ve had some really super conditions recently, with lots of storms blowing in and topping up our terrain with lots of lovely fresh powder! Our terrain is extensive, covering Mount Cook, Wanaka and Queenstown and we’ve been heli skiing all over during the last couple of weeks, with big vertical at Mount Cook being a real highlight.
